- Carrot Tops
Put the carrot tops in a bowl with a little water in it and place it on a window sill.
- Garlic Sprouts
Place the garlic cloves in a cup with a little water and let it grow. The garlic sprouts have a gentler flavor than garlic and can be added to salads, pasta and other dishes.
- Green Onion
Green onions are probably the easiest vegetables to regrow. Cut them in an inch from the roots and put them in a glass of water.
Regrowing leeks is quite similar to regrowing green onions. Cut them in 2 inch from the roots and put them in a bowl of water.
- Grow Onions Vertically
Start by making few holes on a bottle with scissors and then fill it up with potting soil and the onion sprouts.
You can use celery base to regrow a new bunch of celery. Put the celery base in a dish with water for 3 days and then plant it in soil.
You can regrow basil from basil cuttings. Make sure you change the water daily so the plant doesn’t get slimy.
To regrow lemongrass, put the root ends in a glass of water, and leave the glass in a place affected by direct sunlight. In 3 weeks you should see few roots. At that moment you need to plant them into a pot of soil.
- Romaine Lettuce
Romaine lettuce can be regrown from the bottom of the lettuce head. Put the romaine lettuce stumps in ½ inch of water. Few days after you transfer them into soil, new leaves will begin to appear.
- Sweet Potato
You can regrow sweet potato by placing it in a jar of water in direct sunlight. You’ll see new shoots begin to emerge within several days.
Just take a fresh root and plant it partially submerged in soil.
You can regrow rosemary by cutting 2-3 inch from the tops of the rosemary stalks and put them in a glass of water. Rosemary can be used in cooking to add flavor to all kinds of dishes.
