Grow Your Own
Wheatgrass is commonly found in the form of powder, fresh juice and/or capsules.
Juice – 1-2 oz
Powder – 1tbs on 1-3 times a day
Tablets – 500mg
You can always grow your own wheatgrass and below you can see how.
- Organic winter wheat seeds / wheat berries
- Fine mesh strainer
- Clean cloth
- Large glass bowl
- Medium-sized sprouting tray
Take a certain amount of seeds depending on the tray you decide to use and rinse them with cold running water.
On the next morning, put the seeds in a glass bowl, pour over some filtered water, and let them soak covered for about 12 hours.
In the evening, rinse your seeds, and drain them using your strainer. Place them in the empty bowl and cover them with the clean cloth.
Repeat this process every morning and evening for 3 days and the seeds will eventually sprout.
On the 3rd evening, get your sprouting tray ready, and spread the sprouts in an even layer along the elevated tier.
Make some baking soda solution by adding 2 tablespoons of baking soda to your spray bottle, and pouring in some warm water.
Spray the sprouts well to avoid mold.
Cover the tray with a lid and keep it that way until day 2 or day 3 of the process. Place the tray in indirect sunlight to get a high-quality and sweet grass.
Spray the sprouts once a day to keep the sprouts healthy and safe.
Harvest your wheatgrass within a few days and enjoy your healthy green sprouts.
